Have you been eyeing the outdoor kitchen that is available to the residents at The Avenue at East Falls? We don’t blame you! Instead of cooking your next meal in your apartment, take the food and fun outside!
Here are five easy to cook meals to make at our outdoor kitchen:
Olive Oil-Basted Strip Steak
No one can pass up a juicy steak, especially after a long week at the office. Grab a few steaks for you and your friends and fire up the grill! Marinate with salt, black pepper, rosemary, and garlic and basting the steaks every few minutes as they cook with olive oil. You’ll have a delicious dinner in front of you in under thirty minutes!
Shishito and Shrimp Skewers
Sick of making the typical steak, chicken, or turkey skewers? Shishito and shrimp skewers are not only super easy to make but are also delicious!
In a food processor, mix the following:
- Lemon rind and join
- Crushed red pepper
- Olive oil
Once chopped and mixed, toss your shrimp in the mixture and place on a skewer, threading in shishito peppers along the way. Place the skewers on the grill, cook, and enjoy!
Making dinner for your family? Mini naan pizzas are going to be a hit! Let your children pick their own ingredients and assemble their pizzas before placing them on the grill for 10-15 minutes. If you’re looking for an lighter option, switch out your sauce for olive oil!
Caesar Salad Chicken
Putting a fun twist on the classics is always exciting! Coat your boneless chicken breasts in Dijon mustard, parmesan cheese, and top with top with bread crumbs. While the chicken cooks, cut your lettuce hearts in half and place on the grill next to your chicken and cook for two minutes. Once finished, slice your chicken and place on top of the lettuce hearts on a plate to serve!
Grilled Salmon with Salad
Let’s face it: cooking fish in your apartment is less than ideal. It might be delicious, but your space is going to smell for what seems like an eternity. Instead, bring the cooking outside! Grilled salmon is as easy as it gets. All you will need is to coat your salmon in olive oil, salt, pepper, and any of your favorite spices before placing it on your grill.
In the meantime, make your favorite salad and place the salmon on top once it’s finished cooking.
